In "Flower of Evil," episode two, Baek Hee-sung and Cha Ji-won's tension keeps building as they struggle with their secrets and suspicions.

As Detective Cha Ji-won digs more into the investigation of the recent deaths in their area, Baek Hee-sung's background starts to come to light. She starts to doubt her husband's innocence as she finds disturbing links between the crimes and Baek Hee-sung's past.

Baek Hee-sung, meantime, is under increasing pressure from his wife and his personal demons to keep up his façade. Additional understanding of his difficult upbringing and the horrific experiences that molded his identity is offered by flashbacks.

The couple's relationship is put to the test as the episode progresses as they deal with the reality and strike a careful balance between mistrust and love. As Baek Hee-sung's attempts to hide his background grow more desperate, the stakes rise for both Detective Cha Ji-won and him.
