Stranger Things Season 03 episode 1

The first episode of Stranger Things' third season, "Suzie, Do You Copy?" is the show's eighteenth overall. The launch date was July 4, 2019.Romance blossoms and new jobs in the summer. However, when Dustin is attempting to get in touch with his girlfriend, the atmosphere changes when his radio picks up a Russian broadcast, and Will feels something is off.

In 1984, two scientists turn on a sizable device resembling a cannon while a number of government representatives look on. When the device malfunctions and explodes, melting the scientists around, it launches an electrical beam into a wall and begins to open a gate. The attending general instructs the second scientist (in Russian) to finish the machine within a year, and for his failure, he has the lead scientist assassinated by a huge guy. The big man and the general take off in a helicopter, and it becomes clear that they are in Russia.

Jim Hopper, irritated that Eleven had broken his "three inch minimum" regulation by leaving her door open, stopped Eleven and Mike Wheeler as they were making out on her bed on June 28, 1985. Mike rides late to the recently opened Starcourt Mall, where he meets Will Byers, Max Mayfield, and Lucas Sinclair. He swears to see her tomorrow. They travel to Steve Harrington's new job at an ice cream shop, and he uses a back entrance to smuggle them into a free showing of Day of the Dead at the theatre. When the electricity goes out in the mall and the surrounding regions, dust particles begin to spin in an abandoned steel mill across town, and a cloud of black smoke emerges.

After Jonathan Byers' clock is reset following the power outage, Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers wake up in his bed together and head straight to work at The Hawkins Post. Joyce Byers looks at Will's drawing of Bob Newby after realising her fridge's magnets had dropped and then hangs it back up. After a month-long science camp, Dustin Henderson returns to what seems to be a cold greeting. Eleven uses his toys to guide him to his living room, where his buddies are waiting to give him a surprise. However, they frighten him enough that he accidentally squirts Lucas in the eyes with his hairspray. Karen Wheeler and other mothers watch Billy Hargrove, who is now employed as a lifeguard at the Hawkins Community Pool. As he goes by, Karen receives a complement from him.

When Nancy offers the all-male writers of The Hawkins Post a piece on the mall outcompeting nearby businesses, they laugh it off. Nancy also delivers food to the staff of The Hawkins Post. Showing his buddies his most intricate camp invention, Dustin calls "Cerebro" a powerful radio tower. His pals are shocked to learn that his main goal is to talk to his long-distance girlfriend Suzie, so they depart to set it up and have a conversation with her. Steve, whose father had him work at the ice cream shop after he was rejected from college, is unable to score a date with a customer; his sardonic coworker Robin Buckley keeps track of his futile attempts at flirting on a board.

In order for Mike to get her home in time, he leaves with Eleven, which the boys notice is a deception but Max finds charming. The kids go up a hill to create the strongest signal possible. As Will's neck flares up once more, hundreds of rats converge on the mill as dozens of them sprint past him. Scuttling down to the basement, they erupt into lumps of gooey flesh after convulsing. Karen is startled but agrees to take "swimming lessons" with Billy at a nearby motel that evening after he stops her while she is swimming and stares at her. Joyce remembers watching Cheers with Bob while she eats by herself at home. On her fridge, the magnets fall once more.

Hopper politely requests to come in after Mike and Eleven make out on her bed once more, giving them time to act as though they weren't kissing before he enters. Mike interrupts him mid-sentence as he tries to read his prepared statement to them. Taken to his police cruiser by an irate Mike, he abruptly claims to have received a call from Karen, warning him that his grandma is ill and that he should return home. Inside, he gets ready to deliver a less thoughtful and more irate version of his speech to Mike, adding at the last that he might "continue to allow you to date my daughter" before driving off. Dustin calls Suzie, but she doesn't pick up, so Lucas and Max assume she doesn't exist. Dustin is left alone by the children.
