Stranger Things Season 03 episode 3

Stranger Things' third episode of the third season, "The Case of the Missing Lifeguard," is the show's twentieth overall. The launch date was July 4, 2019.Will announces a day without girls while El and Max search for Billy. Joyce and Hopper return to Hawkins Lab while Steve and Dustin go on a stakeout.

Max Mayfield and Eleven spend time together in Eleven's bedroom, where she admits to having regrets about her breakup with Mike Wheeler. After Max gives her the assurance that Mike would ask for her forgiveness soon, they plan to use Eleven's abilities to spy on him. When Eleven emerges from the void, he and Lucas Sinclair are talking about the circumstances in front of a bored Will Byers. Insisting that he did nothing wrong and that women respond on "emotion and not logic," Lucas and Will once more turn down Will's desire to play Dungeons & Dragons and ignore the girls. After drinking, Jim Hopper comes back and is relieved that Mike has left and that he can now focus on keeping the door open. They select based on a roster of names.

Nancy Wheeler tells the journalists at The Hawkins Post that rats have been consuming their chemical products and shows them Jonathan Byers' photos of the insane rat. They dismiss her with laughter. Erica Sinclair stops Robin Buckley when she's translating the Russian code at work in order to obtain further free samples. Dustin Henderson proposes that Steve ask out Robin, something Steve is against, but Steve Harrington and Dustin Henderson are keeping an eye out for strange persons at the mall. Up until the phone rings, Mike and Lucas don't really get into the campaign because they assume it might be the girls. To Will's dismay, Mike and Lucas kill themselves in the game because they are fed up. Will says that Mike is damaging their group because he stops him in his garage.

When Eleven and Max visit the pool, they have an employee identify the things they discover as belonging to Heather, who is not on duty. Eleven swipes a photo of Heather off the staff bulletin board, and together, she and Max slip into the restroom, where Eleven searches for Heather by peering into the abyss. Heather is found immersed in an ice bath when she walks through a crimson doorway into a residence. She gets to her feet and begs Eleven to save her before descending through the floor and appearing to float over a body of water. Hopper and Joyce force entry into the long-closed laboratory. Hopper surveys the area while Joyce looks melancholy at the location of Bob Newby's death. They appear to be turning on a dead security camera as they pass it.

After Steve and Dustin pursue a dubious-looking man, they discover that he is really a Jazzercise instructor. Unable to decipher the code, Robin ends it with "a trip to China sounds nice if you tread lightly." When a worker from Starcourt Mall comes to deliver an ice cream shipment, she realises he is employed by Lynx Transportation, which has the silver lynx in its emblem. She understands that "if you tread lightly" refers to a shoe store, "a trip to China" alludes to a Chinese restaurant in the mall, and "blue and yellow" are the hands of a large clock in the mall that are "meeting in the west" at 9:45. She tells Dustin and Steve with triumph that she cracked.
