Stranger Things Season 04 episode 7

The seventh episode of the fourth season of Stranger Things, "The Massacre at Hawkins Lab," is the thirty-second episode overall. It debuted as the last episode of the first volume on May 27, 2022.Dustin analyses Vecna's intentions and deciphers a message from beyond while Hopper gets ready to face a monster. El draws courage from a far-off recollection.

Steve Harrington, who is trapped in the Upside Down, is rescued by Nancy Wheeler, Eddie Munson, and Robin Buckley from being devoured by bat-like creatures. Steve mercilessly and lethally bashes the bat that was strangling him as they battle the bats off with oars. As more bats begin to gather around the group, Dustin Henderson refers to this as the "watergate," and the party retreats into the adjacent woods. Wallace agrees to reveal Eleven's whereabouts after Jack Sullivan frees him from his heat torture, but he begs Sullivan not to kill her. Eleven tries to crumple a Coke can, but he is unable to do it since he is once more plagued by flashbacks to the carnage. Sam Owens chastises Martin Brenner for pushing her too hard while he is watching her.

After Two attacks Eleven, Brenner performs a medical examination in Eleven's memories. She claims she doesn't recall what happened, but she remembers his death threat. Knowing that one of the kids must have attacked her, Brenner lines them all up, determines that Two is the culprit, and while Eleven looks on in horror, he tortures him with an electric collar until he confesses. Eddie tells Steve that Dustin thinks highly of him, and Steve is quietly happy as the trio strolls into the Upside Down. He acknowledges that he is weary of always being the one who flees or remains behind, that he is inspired by Steve's bravery and that he is jealous of him, and that the only reason he went in after Steve was because Nancy and Robin had already gone.

Pretending to use the lavatory, Dustin desperately radioes the older teens for assistance, but he is unsuccessful. Erica threatens Lucas with violence to make him tell her what's going on. Dustin surmises that Vecna is an underling of the Mind Flayer attempting to erode the barrier between realities after realising that he is opening gateways everywhere he kills. Lights flash outside the Wheelers' window, revealing that the older teens in the Upside Down had made it to the house. When Nancy shows them to her bedroom, she discovers that her guns are missing and that her bedroom is inexplicably locked in 1983—the year the Hawkins National Laboratory gate opened. The group discovers they can see electrical energy and hear Dustin dimly between realms.

Eleven sees Two's buddies observing her. Pulling her away, the orderly informs her that Two is preparing to kill her and that Brenner would let it to happen since Eleven's power terrifies him, considering that he was the one who initiated her attack. He says that when he attempted to intervene, Brenner tortured him. When Eleven questions him about why he keeps helping her, he responds, "I believe in you." Beneath the table, he gives her a keycard. The youngsters take Holly Wheeler's Lite-Brite toy and plug it in, enabling the teenagers to respond to their inquiries with more specific information. They describe themselves as being trapped in the Upside Down. Dustin discusses his hypothesis that each murder scene has a gate that has been constructed.

Just as the youngsters are using a broom handle to smash through the gate from the other side, the teens arrive at Eddie's caravan. The teenagers can climb the rope that is created by tying bedsheets together. After Robin and Eddie escape, Vecna drags Nancy into a vision of Steve's swimming pool and confronts her with the decaying body of Barb Holland. Blood begins to pour into the pool as he accuses her of forgetting about Barb and letting her die, and Steve attempts in vain to wake her up in the real world. When the sirens go off, Eleven comes out of the closet to find Brenner comatose and most of the facility destroyed.

He killed his mother and sister after she became suspicious of him and attempted to have him institutionalised. However, he overexerted himself in an attempt to kill his father, which left him in a coma and left his father to be held responsible for the killings. After Brenner's attempts to manage One failed, he started creating more psychic offspring and numbered them. Brenner was caring for him when he awoke. Eleven discovers he has been playing tricks on her when he confides in her, telling her that he keeps his victims' souls. She declines his offer to team up with him, and the two of them engage in combat. He takes the upper hand when she tries to dominate him by utilising his own advise about painful memories, so she turns to what makes her happiest: her.
